The Arabic Design Archive is thrilled to announce a new alley joining the the Archival Alliances Movement
At the start of 2026, we continue to work towards expanding access to and visibility for seminal design work. We are thrilled to announce a new ally joining the Archival Alliances movement: The Marc Rudin – Jihad Mansour Collection.
Archival Alliances is a global movement initiated by the Arabic Design Archive, dedicated to reuniting dispersed histories of Arab and Arab-connected art and design through collaboration with archives, institutions, collectors, and rights holders across the world. Today, the movement brings together allies such as:
- Harvard Fine Arts Library
- The Palestinian Museum Archive
- The Alexander Saroukhan Collection
- CentreCentre Publishing
- The Syrian Design Archive
- McGill Islamic Studies Library
The addition of the Marc Rudin collection is a strong affirmation of the solidarity and shared responsibility that unites this growing network. The Marc Rudin – Jihad Mansour collection documents a remarkable body of politically engaged graphic work produced in exile between Beirut and Damascus from 1979 to 1991, in solidarity with the Palestinian resistance. These posters stand as both historical documents and enduring examples of design as a tool for anti-racism, internationalism, and visual resistance. We extend our deep thanks to Studio Eusebio for their digitization efforts of this important archive, and our sincere gratitude to Mrs. Eleonora Zimmermann Rudin for her trust, generosity, and stewardship of Marc Rudin’s legacy.
An introduction to Mrs. Eleonora was facilitated by Engy Aly, making this collaboration possible. We would also like to commend the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHDK) for caring for these posters. The Marc Rudin – Jihad Mansour Collection is now accessible on the Arabic Design Archive website.
